Horses run in Ruby’s DNA. The 17‑year‑old is the daughter of Rebecca and Gareth Hughes. Both Gareth, as well as her godfather, Carl Hester, are Olympians. Saddling up almost before she could walk, Ruby has already packed more into her résumé than many professional riders twice her age, winning competitions like the 2025 Addington CDI, a multi‑medal sweep at the 2025 CDI Aachen, and a Team Bronze for Great Britain at the 2023 Junior Europeans. Most of her recent wins are on Bromson Stud’s young stallion Fire Kracka and she is also bringing her own mare Nalina up the levels.
In addition to her dressage success, Ruby’s international vaulting experience showcases the athleticism and balance that give her such a poised, harmonious presence in the arena.
